Accessing the literature

There are a number of ways in which you can access literature for your course.  Each unit you study has a reading list which you can find online, and also in each BREO unit.  The unit reading is broken down into a core text, which it is recommended you purchase; guided reading, which takes you through each topic in the unit (this will often include book chapters and journal articles) and independent reading, which is optional reading to gain more background knowledge. You can download a guide to accessing and using your reading lists.

To search for books in the library you can use the library catalogue.  Here is a quick video showing you how to search the catalogue:

You can also search our one-stop search engine, DISCOVER. DISCOVER searches the majority of our academic content, including books, e-books, journal articles, conference papers and newspapers. You can find more tips on how to search DISCOVER effectively on the 'Search Tips & Tricks' page.
