Conference papers

An academic conference or symposium is a conference for researchers to present and discuss their work. The speakers will prepare academic papers in which they talk about their latest research or review existing research.

These conference papers may later be published in academic journals or bundled together and published as a book of conference proceedings.

Presenters at conferences are usually asked to submit an abstract of their presentation which is reviewed before the presentation is accepted for the meeting. Some conferences may also require presenters to submit a short paper which is peer reviewed by members of the program committee before acceptance.
