Sessions during your courseĀ
Enhance your academic, research, and study skills through tailored support from our Learning Development and Library staff as well as our specialist academic support teams.
The University of Bedfordshire's Learning Development and Library teams support your academic success. Working closely with academic staff, these teams provide teaching sessions designed to help you develop the essential skills needed to thrive at university and beyond.
The Learning Development team delivers academic skills workshops, drop-in sessions, and tailored learning resources designed to meet the needs of your course. Sessions focus on key areas such as critical thinking, academic writing, mathematics and statistics, and presentation skills, helping you apply these skills directly to your coursework and assessments.
The Library team supports your learning through course-specific sessions on referencing, research, and information literacy. Workshops and online tutorials help you locate, evaluate, and use academic resources effectively, while developing your confidence in using academic databases and research tools.
Alongside timetabled teaching, both teams offer one-to-one appointments, drop-in support, and online resources through BREO and the Study Hub, allowing you to access support whenever you need it.
New international students are offered timetabled, weekly academic skills classes which is specific to their subject area, as well as more generic weekly plenary sessions.
