1. Feature films

In text citation:

Citing a direct quote from a film

Dr. Lecter asserts that he once ate the liver of a patient "with some fava beans and a nice chianti" (Silence of the Lambs 1991)

Paraphrasing from a feature film

Dr Lecter's diet of liver, fava beans and chianti provides a particularly gruesome example of cannibalism (Silence of the Lambs 1991).

Reference list:
The elements which should be included in your bibliography/reference lists are :

(i) title (in italics)

(ii) year of distribution (in round brackets)

(iii) director

(iv) Film [in square brackets]

(v) place of distribution: distribution company.

2. Films on DVD

In text citation:

Citing a Direct quote from a film on DVD

The Terminator ominously announced that "I'll be back!" (The Terminator, 2009).

Paraphrasing from a film on DVD In the original Terminator film, Arnold Schwarzenegger travels back in time to play the role of protector (The Terminator, 2009).

Reference list:
The elements which should be included in your bibliography/reference lists are :

(i) title (in italics)

(ii) year of distribution (in round brackets)

(iii) director

(iv) DVD or Video cassette [in square brackets]

(v) place of distribution: distribution company.
