Statistics
Statistical data can be used to add evidence to your argument. Remember that the statistics you find will always be a little out of date as it takes time to collect, analyse and publish data.
You will find statistical information from many sources
- Reference collections at Aylesbury, Park Square, and Polhill includes statistical reports in print format (for example, Social Trends)
- Electronic reports via Library catalogue (for example Monthly Digest of Statistics)
- General websites such as the National Statistics Online site
- Health websites such as the Department of Health, World Health Organisation or the NHS Evidence Health Information Resources
- Social care websites such as Social Care Online
- Public Health statistics from the Public Health Observatories.
You may also find useful statistics about health conditions by looking at the relevant charity's website (like Asthma UK, British Heart Foundation etc).
