Accessing Digital Resources

You can access the digital resources the library subscribes to from home as well as from computers at the university (although if you have very overdue books you will find your account blocked). The catalogue record for each digital resource gives one or more links you can use to access it.

There may be more than one link to the resource. This is because we use more than one system login to resources. You can use these links from a computer at home or elsewhere, and will be asked to verify your identity by giving your username and password.

If you are a student, your username will be your ID number and your password your usual UoB password.

If you are staff, you will need to your your library barcode number (printed on your ID card) whenever you see a library login box; when you see a UoB login box, use your network username.

Remember your university username and password will only give you access to resources we subscribe to.

Having two separate methods is a way for us to provide you with alternative access routes in case of IT problems.

A few resources have their own particular logins – details of these are provided in the individual catalogue record.

Still Stuck?

If you are studying a UoB course at a partner college, your local college will be responsible for your library provision. You will only be able to access UoB digital library resources where licences specifically allow this.

If you are still having difficulties with using a particular resource or would like to report a problem with a service in the Digital Library, please email: library.technical@beds.ac.uk
