Read and Write

Read and WriteRead & Write is installed on many of the PCs at our campus Libraries

Ask a member of Library staff if you need help locating the software on PCs or if you have any queries on the use of Read & Write.

Read & Write is useful for many reading and writing tasks, including:

  • Reading text out loud
  • Highlighting text in different colours
  • Spell checking and predictive spelling
  • Dictionary and thesaurus
  • Word predictor
  • Checking homophones (words which sound the same but have different meanings)
  • Converting text into audio files

If you need an introduction to Read & Write, you can self-book an individual appointment with a Learning Development Tutor and/or an Academic Liaison Librarian (up to 4 weeks in advance) by using our online Study Hub calendar. More details of resources can be found on the Skills for Success area of the website.

Additionally, you may be able to access resources and tools via the Read & Write website
