Use the Skills for Success page on Finding & Using Information

Keeping up to date with the latest developments, research and publications in your field using free alerting services can be just the thing to give your assignments, research and understanding that little bit "extra". These free alerting services sometimes called current awareness and can either be email alerts or RSS feeds.

Journal Alerts

You can set up alerts to receive the table of contents from journal titles you have selected or articles that match your searches (keywords or author names). You can do this in DISCOVER. Watch this video on Setting up search and journal alerts in DISCOVER to find out how.

A free collection if scholarly Tables of Contents (TOCs) is available at JournalTOCs. You can set up an alert to let you know when new issues of your followed journals are published.
