There is a vast array of "official" and professional resources you can tap into to support your understanding of legislation, guidelines and new practices. These can range from:

  • Government departments for example Department for Education
  • Professional organisations for example the National College for Teaching and Leadership, Education Funding Agency and the Standards and Testing Agency
  • Subject related professional associations for example United Kingdom Literacy Association

Many of these websites provide access to resources that you will be able to use in assignments such as national reports or in the classroom such as learning tasks or suggested lesson plans.

If you cannot find a Government document online, try the excellent resource Digital Education Repository Archive (DERA) from the Institute of Education.  DERA is a digital archive of documents published electronically by government and other relevant bodies in the areas of education, training, children and families. It includes full text links to Government documents past and present. Get access to DERA here
