General Dance Resources on the Web 

  • Ballet.co homepage - Updated regularly, this excellent site provides ballet news, reviews, and interviews with choreographers; the site includes a 'Contexts' section that provides background resources on ballet history and choreographers. Also has an extensive section of links to other ballet-related web resources.
  • National Resource Centre for Dance - According to its website, the "National Resource Centre for Dance (NRCD) is a non-profit national archive and resource provider for dance and movement. The NRCD aims to preserve the nation's dance heritage and enables, supports, and enhances the study and teaching of dance." The NRCD online shop includes books and DVDs, as well as teaching resource packs; the Education Services section of the site provides help pages for teachers of dance at GCSE and A-level.
  • The Place – The site for the "UK's premier centre for contemporary dance" provides career advice and training information, as well as details about current performances at The Place venue in London. Also has an online shop with an excellent selection of dance DVDs, and information about Richard Alston and his dance company, currently based at The Place.
  • Jacob's Pillow Dance Interactive - Jacob's Pillow is the longest running international dance festival in America. This online resource provides access to over 5000 dance related videos and is part of the Jacob's Pillow outreach program. The site provides an excellent resource for students, dance scholars and anyone interested in dance. This includes those who have just discovered dance as well as lifelong dancers and fans.
