The University of Bedfordshire has a unique collection of eighteenth and nineteenth century children's literature. The Hockliffe Collection contains in excess of a thousand children's books which date from between 1685 and the early twentieth century. Most of the books in the collection were published between 1740 and 1840.
The Hockliffe Collection is held in closed access at Bedford Campus Library, Room Q0.10. Up to 50% of the collection may be accessed digitally. You may browse the entire catalogue here: http://hockliffe.dmu.ac.uk/home.html
