There are many different types of information sources you may use in your assignments as shown in Unit 3 'Using different types of information and data.'
Some of these information sources will be classed as either primary sources or secondary sources. A balance of both primary and secondary sources shows that you have researched well and understand the difference between the two.
A primary source is an original document containing a first hand account of an event, or it may be a physical object such as a painting or photograph.
A secondary source is created from interpreting, criticising, describing, reviewing or analysing the original primary source.
