8. Finding items using Keywords

Keyword searching allows you to find the exact item you want quickly and efficiently. Suppose you want a specific book and you know the details.

Go to the Library Catalogue and make sure that it is set to search for keywords.
Type in the surname of the author and one important word from the title of your book.

Click on the link to the book.

In this case there are four copies, one at Park Square which can be borrowed for seven days and three at Polhill, which can be borrowed for two weeks, our standard loan period.

'Available' means you can go and collect the book now. It will be shelved at the classmark shown.

Using keywords is the fastest and most reliable way to find a particular book.
