Do not forget that printed journals can also include useful statistics, and this is particularly true in Media Studies. The above figure is obtained from the journal Broadcast. This is a weekly publication which lists the Top 100 network programmes.
Bear in mind that such statistics will be estimated by using samplnig techniques. It would be good practice to quote these in an assignment. In this case the TV ratings figures are provived by Barb.
A more general survey of the media can be found in the annual publication Whitakers Almanack. The latest edition of this reference book will include a chapter on Broadcasting and the Media which includes Top TV shows for the year (as supplied by OFCOM), and some useful figures on newpaper cirulations.
