Although there are collections of reference books in each of the resources centres, you may find it far more quick and convenient to use one of the online sources available. These are:

Statistics
Statistical tables on both general and specific topics are kept in a
separate sequence near the Quick Reference books on Level 1 of the Park
Square Learning Resources Centre. Examples include Annual Abstracts of
Statistics, Social Trends and Regional Trends.
The Office for National Statistics is the government department responsible for providing a wide range of key economic and social statistics. It is also the home of the General Register Office which maintains records of births, marriages and deaths in England and Wales since 1837.
European statistical information
For information about the member states of the European Union, visit Eurostat. The site is available in German, English and French and you will need to select one from the home page.
International statistical information
The United Nations Statistics Division gives links to the statistics sites of individual countries.
