Obtaining material not held in stock

Obtaining items not held in stock

As part of your research you will need to access material we do not hold in stock.  Our Document Supply Service can usually obtain this material for you whether it be a book, journal article, or conference proceeding.

Complete the appropriate on-line Document Supply request form (choose from the list below):

In most cases, items are supplied from the British Library Document Supply Centre in Yorkshire. The more bibliographic information you can provide on the form, the quicker the British Library will be able to fulfill your request.

Secure Electronic Delivery

The majority of journal article requests can now be delivered direct to your desktop using Secure Electronic Delivery (SED).  Articles are sent as PDF's and you will need to install the FileOpen plugin  to your PC.  This is very straightforward. For more information on FileOpen including the plug in and a help guide click here. If you have problems installing the plug in you will need to contact ISD via the helpdesk on in.beds.
