The UK Access Management Federation is an authentication system used by many Universities that provides an alternative access route to the resources we subscribe to. Some resources (Dawsonera ebooks, TRILT, ZETOC Alerts) can only be accessed using this system.
We provide two systems because some resources will only work with one, some with the other; it also helps us to offer alternative access routes in case of IT problems.
On the library catalogue record for the resource you want to use,eg SocINDEX, you will see a link 'Alternative access to SocINDEX with full text (Via UK Access Management Federation)' When you click on this link you will be asked to enter your library username and password. You should then be taken straight to the resource.Sometimes when you login you may also have to select University of Bedfordshire from a list of universities.
There is a list of resources accessible via UK Access Management Federation here.
